Therapeutic Services
We offer compassionate, trauma-informed therapeutic services for adults, children and families who may be experiencing emotional distress, life transitions, or relational challenges. Our services are designed to support individuals and families navigating difficulties such as divorce or separation, family conflict, trauma, grief, and ongoing stressors. We provide a safe, supportive space where clients are heard, understood, and empowered, with interventions tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances. Our therapeutic approach is child-centred, family-focused, and grounded in evidence-based practice, with the aim of promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and healthy relationships.
Happy Chappy Divorce Care Programme for Children
The Happy Chappy Divorce Care Programme is a child-focused therapeutic programme designed to support children who are going through a difficult time during parental separation or divorce. The programme helps children make sense of changes within their family, understand new family roles and dynamics, and safely express their thoughts and feelings. Through age-appropriate, supportive interventions, children are guided to build emotional resilience, reduce anxiety, and feel reassured that their experiences and emotions are valid and heard.
Dog therapy (animal-assisted therapy)
Dog therapy with our therapy dog, Buddy, offers a gentle and comforting therapeutic experience for children and adults. Buddy works alongside our therapist to help clients feel calm, safe, and supported, particularly during times of stress, anxiety, trauma, or emotional overwhelm. The presence of a therapy dog can help build trust, reduce emotional barriers, and support emotional regulation, making it easier for clients to engage in the therapeutic process in a relaxed and reassuring environment.
Goal setting and wellness programme (children and teens)
Our goal setting and wellness programme is a structured four-session therapeutic programme designed to support children and teens as they begin a new year or navigate periods of change. The programme helps young people identify personal goals, build problem-solving skills, and develop practical strategies to manage challenges they may face at school, at home, or socially. Through age-appropriate guidance and supportive therapeutic engagement, children and teens are encouraged to strengthen self-confidence, emotional awareness, and a sense of direction and motivation.
Art therapy
Art therapy provides children, adolescents, and adults with a creative and non-verbal way to explore and express thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through guided, therapeutic use of art materials, clients are supported to process emotions, build emotional insight, and develop healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment. Art therapy is particularly helpful for individuals who have experienced trauma, stress, or emotional overwhelm, and is adapted to meet each client’s developmental and therapeutic needs.
Individual Counselling/Therapy and Trauma Suppport
Individual counselling and therapeutic support are tailored to the unique needs of each client, following a comprehensive assessment of their emotional, behavioural and psychosocial functioning. A range of evidence-based techniques are integrated according to the client’s presenting concerns, developmental stage and therapeutic goals. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address maladaptive thought patterns, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation and distress tolerance, psychoanalytical approaches to explore underlying relational and unconscious processes, and exposure-based interventions where appropriate to safely process trauma-related memories and reduce avoidance.
Where relational dynamics contribute to the presenting difficulties, Family Systems Therapy is incorporated to explore patterns within the family unit, improve communication and strengthen functioning. Attachment-based therapy is also utilised to support secure parent–child relationships, address disruptions in early bonding experiences, and enhance emotional safety within caregiving relationships. A trauma-informed, strength-based approach underpins all interventions, ensuring that clients feel supported, empowered and safe throughout the therapeutic process.
